Freezing Pears in Halves

Did you know you can also freeze our pears? Follow this simple recipe to easily preserve your Cunningham pears for a later date!

You will need:

• Ripe Cunningham pears
• Gallon Ziploc freezer bags (one bag typically fits 6 pears)

Instructions:

• Ensure that the pears are ripe prior to freezing
• Gently wash the pear skin
• Cut the pear in half, and remove the core
• Place the pear halves into a Gallon Ziploc freezer bag, typically 12 halves per bag
• Place into freezer
• When ready to eat a pear, or make a recipe take out only the number of pears that you will need to use that day.
